Feb 2013- Sept 2014.
This tactile moveable set acts as an unnatural mimic of nature. There were many visceral responses from people of all ages during the hours of 7pm to 3 am Sept 29th Nuit Blanche 2012. Our goal was to incite performance from this public inside a room, that once entered, became a fantastical place. And so, the environment inspired various members of the public to assign themselves roles as good, benevolent, observant, peaceful, passive, romantic, meditative, generous as well as violent and smiteful gods: where they could manipulate the pieces to their liking, matching their moods and agendas. We saw children behave as landscapers, architects, dancers as well as angry gusts of wind. The set itself was a strong supporting character, addressing the science of raw nature and the art of its design, unleashing a myriad of impulsive emotions from the public as participant.
For ourselves in conjunction with The Theatre Centre, this was an experiment in a first phase of four, where we would eventually address more music, film, character, story and movement, culminating in Operatic Creation. Our research goes deeper in 2013, where Workshop and Creation will address Multi-Media storytelling, again with maximizing audience involvement.
These will be plays about Structures, Nature, Magic and the characters who bring it all together.
